Prof. Pranab Kumar Sengupta did his M. Tech in Chemical Engineering and Chemical Technology followed by a Ph. D from the University of Calcutta. He is presently the visiting Prof. at the Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata. Earlier he was teaching Polymer science and polymer technology at the University of Calcutta where he had guided 18 Ph. D Students and more than 100 M. Tech students. His research awards include Royal Society Commonwealth Award in Chemistry (Royal Society, London), Senior Research Fellow, Science Research Council, U.K, & Medical Research Council, U.K (Worked on Artificial Liver Support & Solid Phase Peptide & Nucleotide Synthesis) and National Research Associate, U.G.C. He was also Visiting Lecturer, University of Lancaster, U.K and Visiting Professor, Cranfield Institute of Technology, Cranfield, UK.

He was a distinguished member of several high level committees of the Government of West Bengal, Government of India and a number of IITs.  He chaired a number of National & International Conferences, Published more than 60 Research Papers in Journals of International Repute and was a reviewer of a number of International Journals. He is a Fellow of several learned Societies including FPRI (London), FIM (London) and FIRI. He had conducted research on many industrial projects funded by AICTE, MHRD, UGC and CSIR.
